A Message From Mickey

January 19, 2016

Each year I make new year's resolutions and without fail, sooner rather than later, they are forgotten.  I ask myself why I put myself through this. Perhaps we are looking for the magic bullet, something new, or the latest fad or book on how to get there faster, easier and with amazing results.

About 6 years ago I was introduced to Transcendental Meditation and rather than practicing twice a day, it dwindled down to once. Eventually, like my new year's resolutions, it inevitably came and went. Late last year, I participated in a ‘refresher’ course with my TM teacher and as she reviewed the many benefits of TM, I was reminded that with perseverance, it could be The ‘magic bullet’ I needed to help me achieve abundance, fulfillment and happiness.

All along, TM was there for me, waiting for me to open my eyes and see that I already had a practical solution. I didn’t need anything else - except a chair! Now I’ve been setting aside 20 minutes, twice a day, to meditate and it has given me what I need to help me on my path of personal growth.

Sometimes we try looking for answers outside of ourselves to find shortcuts to success, rather than further developing on the foundations that we have already laid. However, gaining results - personal growth, improvement - is not something you can rush. It’s an ongoing process that takes time, commitment, hard work and faith.

With that said, I would like to encourage you to stop looking for easy solutions this year, and challenge yourselves to conquer something - a skill, a goal - that you may have previously detoured from. Believe in yourself, and persevere.

Wishing you all a year of positive, personal growth and fulfillment!
Mickey
