Talk the talk means to say something in a way that appears to be true or real. 

I believe we should always talk about our ambitions and our desires to people around us.

By communicating about the next step you want to accomplish, you might just open a door and allow another person to offer you the opportunity that you are seeking.

If people you work with don’t know what your inspirations are, they will never be able to help you achieve your goals. That’s why it is so important to share with others your true passion in life, your dream career, the “perfect” job for you.

By talking the talk, you take control over your future; you decide for yourself and direct your career. You are proactive in building a closer path to your objective and not relying on an opportunity to knock at your door (guess what: this will never happen).

So start a conversation today with a coworker or your management about where you see your future and what role interests you. That person might just respond, “I didn’t know you were interested in a position like that, let me see what I can do,” and you might be surprised to find a positive outcome earlier that you thought.

A company will do what it takes to keep good people, so you have everything to win in this situation!
