Passion and Integrity

What is Passion?  That’s a good question.  More than just a fragrance from the ‘80’s, it is an all encompassing drive to be the best at what you do and who you are.  In the beauty industry we encounter many passionate people from the sales floor, to the behind the scenes frenzy of the sales and marketing departments of the brands we know and love.  In the 25 plus years I have been in the cosmetic and fragrance business I have had the extraordinary pleasure to work with women and men whose passion created and ran companies, developed products, inspired vision and loyalty and helped me become who I am today.

I have been truly fortunate to also work with individuals who possessed not only extraordinary passion but who also possessed great integrity, an added virtue.

How does this relate to beauty you may ask? Simple.

To be successful with your customers, clients, co-workers and mentors you must first work on yourself.   You must have both passion and integrity!  However, it is only through the process of self-development that you will discover that passion and integrity are not always found together, at the same time, in the same person.  You will also find that one quality is not necessarily dependant on the other.  But, when you combine your passion for beauty with a strong ethical compass - your clients, customers, friends and co-workers will not only see a difference in you, but some will actually feel it.

The hard reality of it all is this is when you are with your client your responsibility is to combine your passion and your integrity to give the best level of customer service. Making the ‘number’ is important, but doing it with respect for the individual in your chair will leave you with a much better feeling in your heart and in the pit of your stomach at the end of the day. You must remember that many people who come into your life as a beauty expert are actually coming to you for some glue to help them be themselves or, put themselves back together, and they come to you to get the right advice on the right type of bonding agent.

Passion, when combined with compassion and integrity will make you a strong beauty expert who will be perceived as beautiful inside and out!
